Help secure Injective and start earning rewards by staking INJ in the Injective Hub.

Injective's consensus mechanism relies on proof-of-stake, providing an opportunity on an individual level to participate in securing its network through staking. By staking,  you can earn passive income and receive INJ rewards for validating blockchain transactions.

To learn how to stake INJ on the Injective Hub, you will need to:

  1. Connect your crypto wallet
  2. Bridge your INJ to Injective
  3. Delegate to an Injective validator

For the purpose of this tutorial, we will use MetaMask as the wallet connector.

Step 1: Connect your wallet

On Injective Hub, click “Connect” on the top-right corner and select “Metamask”.

Once you connect, an INJ wallet address will automatically be assigned to your crypto wallet.

You will be able to view the INJ address on the top right-hand corner with your Ethereum address.

Step 2: Transfer INJ to Injective

To stake INJ, you must first hold it in your INJ wallet. If you already have INJ in your Injective Wallet, please proceed to Step 3.

💡

To get INJ, please visit any of the exchanges that list INJ, including (but not limited to), Binance Coinbase and Gemini

To bridge INJ to your Injective Wallet, select "Bridge" on the Injective Hub and choose "Ethereum" as the token origin source.

💡

If you have never bridged an asset to Injective before, you will first need to “Set Allowance” for your MetaMask wallet to interact with Injective.

Simply click “Set Allowance” (you do not need to enter an amount), which will allow the Injective bridge contract to interact with an ERC20 on your wallet.

You will need to have a minimum amount of ETH in your connected wallet to cover the transaction fee generated by the Ethereum network.

Enter the amount of INJ tokens you would like to transfer from Ethereum to Injective and click “Transfer Now”. Once the transfer is completed, you can check the balance in your Injective Wallet.

Step 3: Choose a Validator

After successfully bridging your INJ, you can begin staking by delegating your INJ to a validator.

Click “Staking” on the left panel of Injective Hub to view the Staking dashboard.

You will see the total number of validators, the staking APR, total amount of INJ staked and how much INJ you have available for delegation.

Choose a validator to delegate your INJ to and select “Delegate Now”. A popup window will appear, and you can specify the amount of INJ that you wish to stake.

To learn more about Injective’s validator network, please visit the Injective blog.

There is no limit to the number of validators you can delegate your INJ to. For instance, you have the option to split your holdings and delegate 50% to Validator A and the remaining 50% to Validator B.

Viewing Rewards

To view the rewards generated over time by staking INJ, click on “Wallet” on the left-hand side of Injective Hub.

Rewards are distributed continuously on every block, and you may claim your reward by clicking on “Claim”.

You can also re-delegate your stake to a different validator by clicking the “Re-delegate” button.
