Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems has an opportunity in Sikorsky Stratford, Connecticut for a senior Systems Engineer supporting Configuration and Data Management functions for a variety of programs. As an experienced hire on our Systems Engineering team, you can help us take on the world's most important and complex challenges by providing solutions to a variety of technical problems by applying extensive technical expertise to develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. In this important role you will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals and interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-oriented, and capable of multi- tasking.
Selected candidate will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems, and information technology related responsibilities including design, development, and analysis of computer systems or programs based on and related to user or system design specifications; applying systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Specific functional responsibilities include: • Establish project team and resource planning. • Conduct staffing and manpower planning to support current and anticipated projects, including interviewing while balancing staffing demand, supply and affordability. Ensure that work is accurately represented in GRID for supported programs. • Additionally, candidate will support assigned programs by coordinating activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design & test problems. • Partner with digital transformation appropriate IPT's for tool/process requirements that impact department roadmap with a focus on tool standardization. • Lead/participate discussions with Design Engineering and Quality to create corrective actions for Corrective Action Requests (CAR's). • Execute any other assignments as directed by the Sikorsky CMDM Manager. • The position is in Stratford, CT. Some travel may be required. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelors degree from an accredited college with 10 years professional experience; or 20 years equivalent professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
• 7 + years project management skills with the ability to provide project status presentations to various levels of Management as well as the ability to conduct detailed technical discussions.
•10 +years' experience leading a small team of subject matter experts to craft an overall project plan and disseminate assignments as appropriate. Desired Skills: • Familiarity with RMS Configuration Management Processes and performance metrics. • Familiarity with the following software packages: MS Power Automate, MS Dynamics, SAP, Product Lifecycle management systems such as Matrix One and 3DX. • Working knowledge of Six Sigma or equivalent (green belt or higher preferred). • Hands-on experience in the following: o Software coding in multiple languages such as VBA, VB.NET, C#.NET, Python. o Databases – ODBC, SQL. Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access. o Software - Tableau, MS SharePoint, MS Office (Visio, Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and corresponding API's). • Previous experience with digital transformation tools and initiatives. • Ability to perform system decomposition of complex processes into manageable parts for automation. • Demonstrated strong and innovative problem-solving skills. Must be able to independently assist in problem solving exploration in many disciplines/domains. • Must have demonstrated the ability to manage schedule and cost. Provide alternatives and replans when necessary. • Must be a proven self-starter with demonstrated capability to proactively work through difficult technical, project and resource challenges. • Must have excellent verbal and written communication. • Strong process focus, familiarity with CMMI concepts, with ability to recognize opportunities for improvement. • Contains a broad knowledge of the market space and technical trends. Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
