Come join the Next Generation Geosynchronous Overhead Persistent InfraRed (NGG OPIR) Program Space Vehicle Systems Engineering (SVSE) team as the Onboard Command Sequence (OCS) Lead Engineer. The OCS lead is responsible for making sure our Military's NextGen OPIR Satellites have robust, validated onboard command sequences for on orbit operations. The SVSE organization as a whole develops and maintains the requirements for the NGG spacecraft including managing the verification efforts for the spacecraft specification.

The Onboard Command Sequence (OCS) Lead will be responsible for the following: • Guiding OCS development, test, verification, and validation including ownership of the OCS specification and verification/validation plans and verification sell-off. • Help ensure that the overall OCS efforts are coordinated with the larger NGG OPIR organization including CONOPS, Flight Software, Software Systems Engineering (SWSE), Mission Payload, Ground Software, System Test, and Assembly Test and Launch Operations • Function as a Systems Engineer that will work with the Requirements and Verification and CONOPS teams to maintain the alignment between the SV Requirements, CONOPS, and onboard command sequences throughout development and test to ensure validated

Successful candidate will typically have 9+ years of related professional experience.

Basic Qualifications: • Experience leading working groups, peer reviews, and technical reviews with both internal and customer teams • Experience developing and executing spacecraft command sequences, scripts and/or operational procedures in a test environment or with operational spacecraft • Experience with authoring requirements documents, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Constraints Documents • Ability to author and interpret engineering specifications, requirements, drawings, and diagrams • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members • Eligibility to obtain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required Desired Skills: • Familiarity with satellite Command and Data Handling subsystems/software such as spacecraft onboard computers and flight software • Ability to author and interpret engineering specifications, requirements, drawings, and diagrams • Excellent verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members • Experience in multiple Systems Engineering functions, such as: CONOPS development, Requirements, Test requirements development, Verification (Requirement, test requirement, or ICD) • Understanding of software / hardware integration and system architectures • Experience with process development and deployment • Experience writing spacecraft software/database test and integration plans Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
