What you'll do

The UX Writer is a digital native copywriter and content editor who has mastered the art of writing in multiple styles and voices for various channels and loves connecting strategy with language. The ideal candidate should have experience working in agency, brand and/or marketing setting, have touched on content and information design, as well as crafted their own copy, both short and long form.

You are a storyteller.

You will simplify and communicate complicated concepts and ideas to a variety of audiences and bring those ideas to life with messaging and supporting visuals as needed. You will tell the user story and give the product its voice. The ideal candidate has a passion for user focused design and a practiced understanding of design thinking and content creation and management. Experience with technology, digital product design and communication design are all essential to your role, and you will be involved in and sometimes be solely responsible for, storyboard drafts, clips of original content, synthesizing technical terminology into plain language, hand sketches, simple mockups, prototypes, presentations, and more.

Day to day you'll use your well-honed expertise rendering concepts and making them move, thinking with your hands, and sweating the details, all in service of making ideas tangible. Your design and content voice will be heard. You thrive at working closely and collaboratively on a team with diverse backgrounds, skills and opinions, and appreciate the unique contributions different individuals make.

  • Collaborate with designers and cross-functional teams to ensure content is aligned with brand guidelines, tone of voice, and the project objectives.
  • Write complex concepts and terminology in simple human language.
  • Prepare scripts for videos, promotional materials, and other creative deliverables.
  • Provide continuous feedback to distill content into narratives that help move prospects through the internal client funnel.
  • Create, edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Concept and collaborate with other teams, including Designers, Project Managers, and Producers
  • Ensure that the brand story is expressed verbally across different touchpoints
  • Manage the quality of copywriting deliverables ensuring they meet client standards and expectations
  • Ensure creative concepts and copy tones are on brand and strategically sound
  • Qualifications

    You'll have

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 5+ years' experience as a copywriter, UX writer, editor, scriptwriter, content manager, creative director for copy or related professional writing experience.
  • Portfolio of writing samples and references that demonstrate your skills in copywriting, editing, content management, UI and UX development, and/or experience design.
  • Even better, you may have

  • 8+ years experience as a copywriter, UX writer, editor, scriptwriter, content manager, creative director for copy or related professional writing experience
  • Proficiency in modern digital design and prototyping tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD preferred, with the ability to harness Adobe Creative Suite when needed.
  • Top-notch linguistic craftsmanship and understanding of the whys and how's of user-centered design methods.
  • Proficiency in robust prototyping and dev tools like Framer, Protopie, or Webflow is a plus.
  • Experience operating in cross-functional organizations is a plus.
  • Expert collaborator and thrive off working with other creatives, partners and disciplines.
  • Clear, open, honest communicator.
  • An openness for rigorous critique.
  • An interest in emerging tech, the latest creative tools, and burgeoning design trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, both in person and digitally.
  • Endlessly curious, a lifelong learner.
