Job Description

  • Operation and Maintenance of current on-premises proxies Cisco WSA. Lead or participate in potential Cloud Proxy migration effort.
  • Provides tier 2 support and assist with project implementation within the Network environment.
  • Successful provisioning as well as supervision of, in installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of the systems hardware, software and related to the proxy infrastructure.
  • Installation and maintenance of network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor networks to ensure their availability to users.
  • Works closely with network operations, systems and other groups on business projects, assignments, problems, etc.
  • Troubleshoot network/application related incidents to identify root cause (Log/ packet capture analysis/TAC).
  • Provide root cause analysis. Assist Incident Management (Return-to- Service) and/or Problem Management (Reason for Outage) by joining incident bridges, and providing root cause analysis, as needed.
  • Engineer and deploy updates to support changes in the PAC file (Javascript).
  • Work with the Load Balancer (LB) team to troubleshoot network/application related incidents and identify root cause.
  • Viavi Gigastor and Gigamon experience a plus. Experience as an escalation engineer with a high level of comfort when debugging complex issues.
  • Interact with Cyber Security team supporting incident response activities for moderately complex events.
  • Experience in evaluating vendor products and making recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
  • Interface with acquisition teams to support acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Works independently on specific projects or may act as lead or Project Manager or a technical consultant where experience and knowledge span multiple projects.
  • Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired outputs, whether solutions or products, which may include baseline performance (SLA's, etc.), Incident management and Problem Management
  • Ensures proper documentation for the corporate knowledgebase, including design, procedural and lessons learned. This also includes maintaining and updating existing documentation.
  • Contributes to technical artifacts through team/program SharePoint and/or communities of practice.

  • 5+ years' senior experience configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting Cisco WSA hardware and associated operating system.
  • 1+ year of Cisco Umbrella Administration
  • 3+ years of experience IP network security, including network systems design and implementation, UNIX system analysis, authentication methods.
  • Experience with Cisco firewalls, Viavi Observer and Wireshark packet analysis.
  • Has achieved industry standard certifications, e.g.: Security+, CCNP, or CCNA
  • Good knowledge of Excel (proficient in data analysis/pivots/presentation) and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Knowledgeable in network security procedures, best practices, and implementation
  • Ability to script (Bash/Awk/Python/Perl/Expect) to achieve data processing/device administration/network testing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate on technical and non-technical subjects.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a variable workload within an environment with conflicting demands.

  • Grafana Knowledge. Develop and support the user-friendly graphical presentation of SNMP data from the proxies.
