Your Role and Responsibilities
This position is for a Network Engineer focused on the implementation and sustainment of switches routers firewalls load balancers and network management tools. The focus is a datacenter environment supporting two separate DoD networks. Responsibilities include network management/analysis/troubleshooting developing and maintaining local operating procedures and policies developing and maintaining network automation and scripts and monitoring the ongoing operation of the network.
Required Certifications: • CompTIA Security+ or other IAT II Baseline equivalent • Computing Environment (CE) Certification Professional Level or higher (i.e. Cisco CCNP Cisco CCNP Datacenter Juniper Palo Alto F5 etc.)
Location onsite Radford VA
Security Clearance: DOD Secret (fully adjudicated) as a minimum

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5+ years of Network Engineering.• 5+ years of configuring and maintaining switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers and network management tools.• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance network infrastructure within the datacenter environment.• Implement network architecture and solutions to meet current and future requirements.• Configure and deploy network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other networking equipment.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
• 5+ years of switch management experience.• Engineer level experience with the Cisco Nexus (9K,7K, 5K, and 2K) line and Cisco Catalyst line.• Engineer level experience with VMware Networking (NSX, ALB).• Experience interfacing with cloud environment counterparts (AWS, Azure, Private)• Engineer level experience with working in DevSecOps environments.

For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
