What you'll be responsible for:

Circle is looking for a talented leader of EMEA Tax who thrives in an innovative and high energy environment. The ideal candidate is someone who is interested in helping to build a world-class global tax department, is passionate about providing leadership for an international team, and enjoys problem solving in an uncertain regulatory environment.

What you'll work on:

  • Building and managing an EMEA tax function with heavy emphasis on establishing efficient processes informed by multinational corporate experience and best practices.
  • Providing experienced leadership in the Finance function and partnering closely with the US team to focus on global tax structuring, product initiatives, and business transactions.
  • Managing EMEA and APAC based transactions and other tax activities.
  • Building on key multistakeholder relationships with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Business teams to ensure integration of Tax as a business partner.
  • Providing leadership and guidance on corporate level tax projects, as requested.
  • Supporting the international expansion of EMEA infrastructure and providing cross-functional leadership on growth initiatives.
  • Overseeing the completion of accurate tax filings for EMEA, while partnering with various internal stakeholders on tax filings as needed.
  • Analyzing and providing resolution on complex tax related matters.
  • Developing and motivating a team that will excel in a fast-moving, hyper- growth setting.

  • What you'll bring to Circle:

  • 13+ years of experience in corporate tax.
  • 7+ years of managing a team in a public company setting.
  • Demonstrated broad technical knowledge of Irish and UK tax regulations; experience with respective revenue authorities a plus.
  • Experience interacting directly with Irish tax authorities and other regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with ERP system implementations, Oracle or SAP preferred.
  • Experience in financial services or fintech industries preferred.
  • Excellence in executing complex, multistakeholder projects and initiatives.
  • True relationship building skills and commitment to high standards of integrity and work quality.
  • Ability to lead by modeling collaborative, humble, and execution-oriented behavior.
  • Experience/familiarity with Slack, Apple MacOS and GSuite.
