Lockheed Martin Space in Titusville, FL is seeking a Summer 2023 Quality Assurance Test and Inspection Intern. In this role, you will perform quality assurance product acceptance inspections and logbook reviews, be responsible for verifying effective corrective action is implemented to resolve the root cause of discrepancies, support quality metrics generation and reporting, and cause and effect analysis. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and six-sigma tools and analyses to assess assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Basic Qualifications: Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited college in a technical discipline (e.g., engineering field) or equivalent discipline (e.g., math, physics, chemistry, etc.).
This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance. Desired Skills: Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills as this position may require interaction with external customers/suppliers. Problem solver/solution-focused. Flexibility/teamwork oriented. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. SAP/ERP experience, Green Belt training/certification, Cause and Effect Analysis skills. Statistical Process Control (SPC) and reporting quality metrics experience. Familiar with AS9100. May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
