The individual selected will provide research, analytical, and coordination support to Lockheed Martin Government Affairs staff on the National Security Space team. The individual will also assist, and at times lead, internal projects and administrative functions. This position will be responsible for supporting others on the team in Lockheed Martin Government Affair's strategic engagement with government customers specialized in the national security Space domain and Intelligence Community. In addition, this individual will coordinate with internal stakeholders across Lockheed Martin. This position will also provide legislative research and analysis support to the National Security Space and Legislative Affairs teams. The intern will have the opportunity to attend or support internal and external meetings and events to gain a greater understanding of government decisionmaker perspectives and how the national security space domain customers and intelligence officials interact with industry. Basic Qualifications: • Undergraduate or graduate study focus in national security and defense • Knowledge and understanding of U.S. defense and intelligence organizations • Career aspirations in the aerospace and defense industry or the US government's national security organizations • Effective verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to multi-task under deadlines, and the capability to summarize lengthy and complex matters into short briefing materials • Ability to integrate quickly into a high-performing team and react quickly to tasks/actions • Should be organized, proactive, and be able to maintain a sense of urgency Desired Skills: • Research and scheduling experience • Basic understanding of national security policy and space domain issues • A strong self-starter and disciplined work ethic • Able to work without constant supervision • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business software • Excellent communication skills, with particular emphasis on written communication • Proficiency in presentation design and preparation Clearance Level: None Other Important Information You Should Know Expression of Interest: By applying to this job, you are expressing interest in this position and could be considered for other career opportunities where similar skills and requirements have been identified as a match. Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
