We are seeking a talented Guidance, Navigation & Tracking Engineer to support the continued enhancement of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) interceptor missile and ground system. The PAC-3 family of missiles are the only combat proven Hit-to-Kill interceptors that defend against incoming threats, including tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft through direct body-to-body contact delivering exponentially more kinetic energy on the target than can be achieved with blast-fragmentation kill mechanisms. This role will require onsite support full-time at Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX working a 4/10 Flex schedule. This position requires a current DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.

We are seeking a new-hire engineer interested in a career in Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineering to support development of inertial target tracking/fusion algorithms to support multi-target tracking in a highly dynamic environment. The GNC Engineer will work with Software Engineering to ensure algorithms are implemented within the system's software suite correctly. The GNC Engineer will support develop and run the simulation and perform trade studies. The individual will work as part of a team in reviewing various scenarios, identifying improvements and determining best solutions. Simulation updates to improve analysis capability will also be involved.

The candidate should have familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems.

#MFC22 Basic Qualifications: Candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform some combination of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) assignments:

Perform Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis.

Support development and analysis of guidance, navigation and autopilot algorithms.

Support design of target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.

Support analysis of optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).

Support design and analyses of terrestrial navigation and navigation state error estimation.

Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.

Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.

Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.

Experience with MATLAB and C/C++ programming. Desired Skills: Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.

Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.

Experience with Embedded Software, RF knowledge and experience is also a plus.
