As a Ford Google Cloud Engineer , you will collaborate with multiple organizations (Business Customers, Product Owners, Data, IT) to convert business goals into GCP solutions. This role will work in a small team dedicated to supporting Ford Quality and Quality Analytics using agile practices, DevOps, and cutting-edge GCP capabilities.

Ideally, this opportunity is for the technically oriented individual who has experience developing a wide variety of solutions within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including developing data storage solutions, developing complex data transformations, optimizing cloud platform capabilities, enabling analytics, and partnering with analytics leaders across products.

Responsibilities

What you'll be able to do:

  • Critically think and make decisions in partnership with Ford Quality and Quality Analytics leadership
  • Lead new data and infrastructure development efforts within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Spearhead new data architecture initiatives
  • Create and implement new data storage solutions in platforms like Google Cloud Storage (GCS)
  • Leverage DevOps to develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Visual Studio, Github, and Github Copilot
  • Leverage Python and SQL to develop new product-specific and foundational data products for all of Ford Quality
  • Present new initiatives and key findings to Ford Quality and Quality Analytics leadership
  • Qualifications

    The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience with Google Cloud Platform or any related others and Data Engineering
  • Prior experience writing Python and SQL that require minimal changes to deploy into production.
  • Our preferred requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Think critically and discover how to leverage GCP tools to solve business problems
  • Write BigQuery SQL to query, analyze, transform, and process large datasets
  • Create data pipelines using Astronomer, Data Flow, Data Form, and other GCP tools - plus
  • Understand the basics of agile development, DevOps, CI/CD, etc.
  • Challenger mindset - the ability to push past the status quo & obstacles to implementing a vision
  • Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and strategically with all levels of management in varying areas of business, partners, and enterprise technology.
