What you'll be able to do:
The primary focus of the Engineering Test Engineering role will be conducting
electrical and mechanical hardware validation testing on Ford's Next
Generation Electronic Control Units (ECU). This role involves working in
Ford's ISO Laboratory environment supporting various climactic and mechanical
stress loading conditions using specialized equipment and chambers. The
successful candidate will be working on Ford's Environmental Test team to
ensure modules are delivered free of defects, with the highest production
quality while achieving best in-class test coverage.
Conduct environmental HW validation test suites on Ford's newest and
Conduct Ford's internal Thermal Validation test suites using automated SW
Issue tracking, investigation and resolution of module test failures or
deficiencies on new and existing modules, working closely with design
teams for performance expectations.
Operation of temperature, humidity, dust, water and audio test chambers
Operation of other specialized equipment such vibration, shock and force
Perform RF Calibrations for Modem and Antenna Performance Validation
Utilize Ford approved tools and methos regarding failure reporting
Detailed test result documentation creation, as per Ford / ISO17025
Perform test results analysis to assess statistical ECU performance and
Work with Test Development Team regarding complex test validation issues.
Interface closely with Mechanical and Electrical Product Design teams
regarding any ECU performance issue documentation and discovery processes.
Find opportunities for lab improvements and drive to improve test quality
by reducing test complexity and increase test coverage where possible.

The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering
1+ year TestStand Experience
1+ year experience with RF (>6GHz)
Basic DSP knowledge for programming embedded test sample HW.
Experience in functional test systems for Audio, Power, Conducted RF and
Radiated RF testing of 2G/3G/4G/5G/Wi-Fi/BT/GPS, CAN/LIN, Displays and
Experience Operating Temperature Chambers and Vibration Tables
Experience working with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-
meters, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, and precision power meters.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
Experience conducting automotive performance test suit validation efforts.
Trained Expert - LabView and TestStand (Developer +3yrs)
Experience with D/FMEA processes (5D/8D, RCCA, 5-Why)
Experience with Probabilistic Reliability / Bogey Testing
Failure Probability (Weibull) and Accelerated Life-Cycle Testing
Statistical Data analysis (histogram / CPK) automation tools
Excellent hardware, software and networking debugging skills.
Detailed understanding of various technologies such as CAN, Automotive
Ethernet (BroadR), Audio (i2S), Displays (LVDS) and Cameras,
Network Expert with TCP/IP connectivity protocol standards knowledge base.
Knowledge of chip programming and software download into electronic
Knowledge of SMT / Selective Solder / Underfill Processes / Conformal-Coat
Experience working with Qualcomm tool sets
Experience with Jira and Confluence Atlassian Tools
Detailed understanding of Test System Design
