About the team + role

The Support Product team within Customer Care consists of a diverse team of iOS, Android, Web and backend engineers. This team owns all customer-facing support experiences for Robinhood, including support entry points, help center, support hub, live channel customer UX and user triage. This team will be the first touch point for any Robinhood customer seeking support for all of its product offerings. This team has a significant impact on how customers start and navigate through their support journey with Robinhood, playing a key role in our common mission of democratizing finance for all.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and develop a highly technical team. You will have true ownership of the features built, lead the execution and delivery of these features, all while developing and fostering a high performance team. This is all in an effort to continue to delight our users and ensure systems are constantly communicating seamlessly.

What you'll do
  • Grow, motivate and develop a team of inspired and hard working backend, web, ios and android engineers who have high expectations of themselves and their teammates. Align projects with individual growth goals and create growth opportunities.
  • Ensures the team is always prioritizing and delivering on the highest impact work. Creates clear goals and roadmaps that finds the optimal balance across needs from a variety of stakeholders including product, engineering, security and those internal to the team.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to maximize your team's effectiveness. You help to make difficult decisions and lead conflict resolutions within your team and with your partners.
  • Lead the team's execution including implementing appropriate processes, establishing a high standard of performance, managing risks and resource allocation
  • Have a deep understanding of the team's technical architecture and the implication of key technical decisions. Build effective processes to eliminate technical risk and tech debt.
  • Guide the team to keep a focus on software engineering craftsmanship; testing, static analysis, continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
  • What you bring
  • A minimum of four years in an engineering leadership role with a proven track record of creating highly effective teams.
  • Experience managing full stack teams
  • Experience managing teams with diverse skill sets. You're eager to learn, with proven ability to learn new skills quickly.
  • Ideally, you have experience in the customer care domain
  • Passion in mentoring junior engineers and improving the engineering craftsmanship!

  • The expected salary range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. This role is also eligible to participate in a Robinhood bonus plan and Robinhood's equity plan.

    US Zone 1: $217000 - $255000 US Zone 2: $190000 - $224000 US Zone 3: $169000 - $199000

    Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands.
