Your Role and Responsibilities
Data Scientist, IBM Corporation, Durham, NC (Up to 100% telecommuting permitted): Develop and document learning outcomes and objectives for the curricula in the areas of business understanding, data management, data understanding, data preparation, data analytics, modeling, evaluation, and deployment. Develop curricula that involve identifying and collecting data from various sources and manipulate the data through reshaping, summarization and combining to teach the learner the meaning, range, and data type to be used in the performance of data science modeling. Develop hands-on labs using object-oriented programming as a part of curriculum to evaluate the learner's understanding of technical concepts. Train, test and evaluate a wide variety of Big Data and large-scale computing algorithms developed by internal researchers before incorporating them into curriculum that is being developed. Review drafts of course labs, videos, and readings for other team members, and identify areas for improvement in those draft materials. Create scripts and videos to transform the existing instructor-led, live delivery courses to digital, self-paced format. Build and deploy new courses to online delivery via internal digital learning platform. Respond to questions and comments from learners in self-paced online courses. Develop and execute plans for modifying existing learning subscriptions to generate more revenue for company. Develop marketing materials for department to market learning offerings both to internal and external audiences. Utilize: Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Statistics and Data Mining, Machine Learning algorithms. Required: Master's degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems Management or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master's degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Data Analyst or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Python, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Statistics and Data Mining, Machine Learning algorithms. Full time. M129.
