The Risk Analytics Group is looking for a data scientist with solid Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence background, strong programming skills and preferably good understanding of modern cloud platform like GCP. You will have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest subject matter experts to contribute to auto financing industry, assisting in all phases of project work, including problem formulation, model development and deployment.

Risk Analytics team within Ford Global Data Insight and Analytics (GDI&A) has a talented, motivated, innovative group of individuals with an entrepreneurial mindset and a deep interest in data and modeling.

The Risk Analytics function at Ford Motor Credit Company supports the development, evaluation, and deployment of models to support a wide range of business problems which include:

  • Credit risk assessment at loan origination
  • Behavioral risk assessment to inform collections strategies
  • Fraud identification
  • Find AI/ML solutions to support FMCC objectives

    Responsibilities

    What you will do

  • Work with data sources on multiple platforms (Google Cloud Platform, big data platform, PC, Mainframe, Unix/Linux, and Teradata), collaborate with data team to update data when needed.
  • Develop and implement models to support business questions, including AI/ML/statistical models.
  • Maintain and improve operational models through their lifecycle.
  • Explore new methodologies to build business solutions.
  • Develop performance indicators and reports to supervise model accuracy and evaluate performance.
  • Prepare analysis to back-test and compare competing models and methodologies.
  • Implement both descriptive and inferential analyses in a timely manner.
  • Effectively communicate and present technical material to a broad audience.
  • Qualifications

    You'll have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Statistics/ Data Science/ Biostatistics/ Mathematics/ Economics/ Operations Research/ Physics /Engineering, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of programming experience (internships and coursework allowed).
  • 2+ years in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning (internships and coursework allowed).
  • 1+ years Python (internships and coursework allowed).
  • Even better, you may have

  • Master or PhD degree in Computer Science/ Statistics/ Data Science/ Operation Research/ Mathematics/ Economics/ Physics/ Engineering, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • Solid experience with software engineering
  • Solid experience with machine learning & deep learning frameworks
  • Experience using SQL
  • Good understanding of Cloud platform infrastructure like GCP is a plus.
  • Ability in the application of Machine Learning/AI in real-world industrial settings with large scale data.
  • Ability to translate sophisticated quantitative analysis into business insights.
