Job Description

Ford's Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS) team designs and develops hardware, software and functional models that provide best-in-class behavior for features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Active Park Assist, and 360 Camera Systems.

The ADAS Systems Diagnostic team develops the platform system architecture and requirements to provide diagnostic and configuration capabilities to all features within the system. We work with hardware, software and model engineers across ADAS to understand their diagnostic needs and implement platform level specifications to meet those needs utilizing a variety of diagnostic capabilities, including UDS functions and corporate tools and processes. Cross-functionally, we ensure the system design meets the necessary corporate diagnostic specifications, and supports the needs of our manufacturing and service teams. As part of the development process, we follow these requirements through validation, working closely with implementing and testing teams to ensure these requirements are met.


What you'll do

  • Support architecture development for diagnostic functionality of next generation ADAS systems
  • Gather and evaluate diagnostic requirements from engineering, manufacturing and service teams
  • Define logical and functional requirements for diagnostics and vehicle configuration
  • Support internal and external implementation and validation for functional requirements and cross-system diagnostic use cases
  • Maintain/report status of diagnostic implementation to development teams and internal consumers
  • Analyze performance of diagnostics using data from development & customer fleets and update designs/specifications to incorporate improvements & lessons learned.
  • Lead collaborative development of repair procedures associated with diagnostic trouble codes
  • Support troubleshooting for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) and/or configuration issues throughout development, vehicle launch, and production, both directly with engineers and through the development of internal diagnostic user guides.
  • Qualifications

    You'll have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or Control Systems
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills
  • Ability to quickly learn on the job and work independently
  • Experience working with teams utilizing agile development methodology
  • Experience with Automotive Unified Diagnostic Services (UDS) ISO-14229
  • Experience with system architecture development and requirement authoring utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Even better, you may have

  • M.S. In Electrical, Controls, Computer, Mechanical or Systems Engineering
  • Excellent leadership, communication and project management skills
  • Experience with ADAS systems, components and features
  • Familiarity with CAN and Automotive Ethernet Networking, particularly related to diagnostic communication, including DOIP
  • Familiarity with classic and adaptive AUTOSAR stacks in support of diagnostic and configuration capabilities
  • Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools: CANoe, CANanalyzer
  • Experience with system engineering tools: MagicDraw, Jama, TestRail
  • Experience with project management tools: Jira
