In Product Development, we bring engineering ideas to life. The ADAS Application group implements and validates ADAS features for upcoming programs. The ADAS Application group validates and deploy ADAS features to all Ford vehicle programs. We strive to improve feature performance to exceed customer satisfaction and eliminate field issues. Our engineers support the development and validation of the latest ADAS features such as Pre Collision Assist, Blue Cruise and Pro Trailor Hitch Assist.

Responsibilities

  • Lead simulation for vehicle programs validation & sign-off (PCA, PCAi, BC,)

  • Lead transition of physical vehicle testing to simulation-based virtual methods

  • Perform closed-loop full vehicle simulation to accelerate iterative development of ADAS features

  • Integrate ADAS Adaptive and Classic AutoSAR SWCs (C, C++, MBD) for full vehicle SiL testing

  • Integrate ADAS, Powertrain/Chassis Control and IVI SWCs for full vehicle SiL tesing

  • Debug and support resolution of SWC issues to deliver ADAS features quality

  • Create virtual roads and scenarios for robust testing of ADAS features (DVM/FTEP, Regulatory, Real World)

  • Develop, validate and deploy simulation tooling and processes for ADAS features iterative testing and program validation (CarMaker, VMAPS, Python, Jenkins, Foxglove, docker,)

  • Work with the Ford Vehicle in the Loop, Simulator and Ford vehicle test teams to establish simulation procedures to reduce dependency on vehicle level testing

  • Qualifications

    You'll have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional C++ programming experience
  • 2+ years of experience developing on POSIX compliant operating systems, such as Linux
  • 2+ years of experience Hands-on Validation experience and/or theoretical Algorithm Development knowledge with ADAS common feature applications (Forward Collision Warning/Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitoring Systems, Lane Warning/Keeping)
  • Even better, you may have

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development using C++
  • 3+ years of ADAS/Autonomy software development experience
  • Experience ADAS/Autonomy enablers: camera, radar, ultrasonic and LiDAR sensing, senor fusion, image processing, artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Experience in data acquisition of vehicle networks and ECU internal data
  • Experience in software simulation for automated systems (ADAS, Autonomy, robotics, etc.)
  • Expertise in Classic and/or Adaptive AUTOSAR
  • Experience working within an Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Strong written and verbal communication
